2025 Board Focus

AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Boston

Boston-hope-lodge-reception.jpg

Hope Lodge communities across the country provide a free place to stay during treatment so people with cancer can focus on getting better. These communities provide comfortable guest suites with private baths, as well as inviting spaces with all the comforts of home, including a communal kitchen, dining area, laundry rooms, and places to gather or find a quiet respite – all at no cost to guests.

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Boston, which opened in 2008, offers 45 guest rooms located near treatment centers in the area.

In 2023, 22,838 nights of free lodging were provided to over 910 guests, saving guests an estimated $4.1 million in lodging costs.

The Board will support Hope Lodge throughout 2025 by donating their time and talent, hosting dinners for guests, and supporting the 2025 Boston Key Gala

Additional 2025 Priorities

In addition to Hope Lodge, our Board members are also focused on other events and campaigns throughout the year and across eastern New England. Here are just a few of the initiatives our Board members are involved in.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

The American Cancer Society started Making Strides Against Breast Cancer to unite communities, companies, and individuals with a collective goal to end breast cancer as we know it. The Making Strides movement raises lifesaving funds that support breast cancer patients, survivors, thrivers, and caregivers through every step of the journey. The improvements in cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and access to care during my lifetime and career as a medical oncologist have been transformative for millions of patients with cancer - but our work is unfinished.
