ABOUT
The American Cancer Society
Our vision is to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
Our mission is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

As the only organization that supports people with cancer at every stage — from prevention to survivorship — we do everything we can to ensure people know they have a dedicated companion during a difficult time.

Donations to the American Cancer Society help us fund breakthrough research that saves lives, advocate for health equity and more affordable care at the government level, and provide essential day-to-day patient support.

The Eastern New England Board of Directors
The all-volunteer board is responsible for connecting local communities to education and resources, achieving board and personal goals that energize revenue and mission, and influencing changes that save lives in the fight against cancer.
The current Board of Directors is comprised of 20 community leaders from eastern New England with a strong commitment to ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. Board members are actively engaged in events and campaigns throughout the year, with a special focus on the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge in Boston for 2025.

At the American Cancer Society, we’re on a mission to free the world from cancer. Until we do, we’ll be funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention. All so you can live longer — and better.
