Mark A. Goldberg, MD

Mark Goldberg, MD, is a retired medical oncologist and hematologist previously on the faculty of Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Medical School. He is a veteran biotech executive, and long-time American Cancer Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteer. Dr. Goldberg currently serves on the boards of directors of Walden Biosciences and Avacta Therapeutics and previously served on the boards of directors of Blueprint Medicines, Immunogen, Audentes, Idera, and Glycomimetics. He served on the executive management team of Synageva Biopharma from 2011- 2014, and before that, he served in various management capacities of increasing responsibility at Genzyme Corporation from 1996-2011, most recently as senior vice president of clinical development. Dr. Goldberg was the inaugural chair and is a current member of the ACS Eastern New England Area Board and was a member of the former ACS New England Division Board. Dr. Goldberg has served on the American Cancer Society Board of Directors since 2019 and currently serves as the vice chair of the Board, chair of the Human Capital Committee, and member of the Governance Committee. He received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School.
