Shawn Deane serves as Managing Director at Webster Bank and General Counsel for Ametros Financial Corporation. As a key member of the executive leadership team, Shawn is responsible for overseeing Ametros’ legal, regulatory, and compliance operations. Ametros is the nation’s leading healthcare financial organization for medical settlement fund management, helping injured individuals navigate healthcare and compliance.

 

He has nearly twenty years of experience spanning healthcare law, insurance, and Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP). Shawn has previously held leadership positions at leading healthcare financial organizations. He’s an industry expert and thought leader in workers’ compensation, Medicare Set Asides (MSAs) and Medicare compliance.   

 

Shawn is also committed to giving back. For the last seven years he’s sat on the board for Kids’ Chance of Massachusetts, a charitable organization dedicated to awarding scholarships to children of parents who’ve been catastrophically or fatally injured in a work-related accident. Shawn is also an avid marathon runner who’s turned a healthy hobby into a passion for fighting cancer, having run his last four marathons for the American Cancer Society’s Team Determination. Shawn has seen first-hand people and families he’s cared about face and the weight of diagnoses, the grind of treatment, heartbreaking loss, and the determination it takes to keep going.

 

Shawn holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Berklee College of Music, a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Cambridge College, and Juris Doctor from the Massachusetts School of Law. Shawn is an adjunct professor at New England School of Law. Shawn resides in Georgetown, Massachusetts with his wife, kids and two labrador retrievers.
