Tom Carey has spent the majority of his professional career in executive and board search, serving the life sciences and healthcare industries.  He currently operates a professional services firm, Carey Advisors LLC, solely focused on board advisory and recruitment within the biopharma, diagnostics, and digital health markets. Prior to this, Tom founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Perspective Group, a professional services firm specializing in recruiting board directors and CEO and other C-Suite executive across life sciences. Before founding Perspective, Tom spent nearly fifteen years in leadership roles within leading global executive search firms. Most recently Tom led Spencer Stuart’s efforts in life sciences board of director recruitment and advisory services. Prior to that, at Russell Reynolds, he was co-leader of the global healthcare practice with primary responsibility for North America and previously, he led the firm’s pharmaceuticals and biotechnology practices in the Americas. Prior to entering the executive search industry, Tom held various CFO roles within public and private life sciences companies. Tom also serves on the Board of Exact Sciences Corporation (NASDAQ: EXAS), a publicly traded molecular diagnostic company and is currently the Chair of Vitalbio, a private venture backed diagnostics company.  Tom received his bachelor’s degree in physics from the College of the Holy Cross and his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Tom resides in Hingham, Massachusetts with his wife, Kelly, where they raised their five children.
